FAQ’S

  • We always recommend a colour consultation before your first visit or if you’re making a significant change. This allows us to assess your hair history, length, thickness, and the technique needed to achieve your desired result.

    A consultation ensures:
    • the correct timing is booked
    • transparent pricing based on your hair and our tiered levels
    • realistic expectations for results and maintenance
    • your stylist can plan the perfect approach for your hair

You’re welcome to bring photos of your current hair and inspiration images so we can tailor everything to you.

  • Timing depends on your hair length, thickness, and the colour service you choose. A simple gloss or toner may take as little as 30–45 minutes, while foils, balayage, corrections or blonding sessions can range from 2–5+ hours depending on the result you want.

Every colour is personalised, so your stylist will give you a more accurate time estimate during your consultation.

  • Colour pricing varies depending on your hair length, thickness, and the type of service you’re having. Every head of hair is unique, so prices may differ based on the time, product and technique required to achieve your desired result.

For an accurate quote, we always recommend booking a consultation or sending us photos of your current hair and inspiration. This ensures full transparency before your appointment.

  • We offer tiered pricing to give you flexibility and clarity when booking your colour or styling services. Prices vary based on the stylist level, time required, and the amount of product needed for your hair.

This means you can choose the stylist that best suits your budget, experience preference, and the complexity of your service. Every stylist at ANAKA is trained to our high standards — the tier simply reflects experience and demand.

  • Colour longevity varies based on your hair type, porosity, maintenance routine, and the service you’ve had. Here’s a guide to help you understand what to expect:

    Tints / Regrowth Colour

    Lasts 4–6 weeks.
Perfect for covering greys or refreshing a solid colour. Regrowth becomes visible as the hair grows.

    Foils

    Lasts 6 –12+ weeks.
Because foils create dimension, the regrowth is softer and can grow out more seamlessly than a solid tint. Great for low-maintenance blondes or brondes.

    Balayage

Lasts 3–6 months depending on placement and contrast.
Balayage is designed to be low maintenance with a soft blend and natural grow-out. You may only need glosses/toners between major sessions.

    Toners / Glosses

    Lasts 2–4 weeks.
These refresh shine and tone but naturally fade with washing, heat styling, and environmental exposure. Ideal between colour appointments.

    Grey Blending

    Lasts 6–8 weeks.
This softens and diffuses grey without creating a harsh regrowth line. Longevity depends on how much blending vs coverage you’re after.

  • At ANAKA, we use Wella Professional Colour, one of the world’s leading colour systems known for its performance, shine and long-lasting results. Wella offers a full spectrum of shades — from bright, dimensional blondes to rich brunettes and seamless grey blending.

We also use Wella’s Shinefinity, Koleston Perfect, Color Touch, and Wellaplex systems to personalise every result while keeping the hair’s integrity our top priority.

Your stylist will choose the perfect combination based on your hair type, condition and desired outcome.

  • Grey blending softens and diffuses your natural greys by mixing them with lighter or darker tones, creating a seamless and low-maintenance result. It doesn’t fully cover the grey — instead, it blends it so regrowth isn’t harsh.

How long does grey blending last?

Grey blending typically lasts 6–8 weeks, depending on how much blending vs coverage you choose and your natural regrowth rate.

    Is grey blending low maintenance?

Yes — it’s designed for guests who want a softer grow-out without the commitment of full solid colour.

Is grey blending right for me?

    It’s perfect if you want:
    • a softer transition into greys
    • a natural, diffused finish
    • less noticeable regrowth
    • a more modern alternative to full coverage

  • It depends on the result you want, how you like your colour to grow out, and how much maintenance you prefer.

    Choose Foils if you want:

    • brighter, cleaner blondes
    • maximum lift (especially for blonding)
    • definition from the roots
    • a more controlled, uniform result
    • regular maintenance every 6–12 weeks

Foils are great if you love lighter pieces starting closer to the scalp or want higher contrast.

    Choose Balayage if you want:

    • a softer, sun-kissed result
    • a natural, melted grow-out
    • lower maintenance (every 3–6 months)
    • a lived-in, seamless finish
    • dimension without heavy brightness at the root

Balayage is perfect for clients who want a more relaxed, effortless look with fewer salon visits.

Not sure which one you need?

Bring photos of your current hair and your dream hair to your consultation — your stylist will guide you to the technique that suits your hair type, desired brightness, maintenance level, and overall style.

  • Why does blonding take multiple sessions?

Blonding is a gradual process because we prioritise the health and integrity of your hair. Lifting too quickly in one go can cause breakage, uneven colour and long-term damage — so we take a safe, staged approach.

Here’s why multiple sessions are often needed:

    1. Your starting point matters

Dark, previously coloured or box-dyed hair needs more time to lift safely and evenly.

    2. Hair can only lift so much per session

Each blonding appointment lightens the hair a certain number of levels. Pushing it too far risks compromising the hair.

    3. Condition is everything

Healthy hair = brighter, cleaner blondes. We often incorporate treatments (like bond builders) between sessions to strengthen the hair.

    4. Previous colour history affects the result

Old tints, bands, or uneven colour can mean we need to correct and lift slowly for an even blonde outcome.

    5. Your dream shade may need layering

Sometimes your end goal — creamy blonde, champagne, icy, dimensional — requires building tone and depth over multiple visits.

    6. We do it safely

We follow a “healthy hair first” approach so your blonde looks good and feels good long-term.

  • Using the right home hair care is essential for keeping your colour vibrant and your hair healthy. When you purchase your products through Anaka, you’re ensuring quality control, consistency and results that truly last.

    Here’s why it matters:

    1. Protects your colour investment

Salon-quality shampoos, conditioners and treatments are formulated to prevent fading, brassiness and dryness — especially after blonding or toning.

    2. Ensures quality control for your hair

We know exactly what’s in the products we recommend, which means your hair continues to receive the same level of care at home as it does in the salon.

    3. Maintains the integrity of your hair

Professional products support hydration, strength and shine, helping your colour last longer and look better between appointments.

    4. Prevents damage caused by supermarket or mismatched products

Incorrect products can strip colour, dry out the hair or cause unnecessary damage, undoing the work we’ve done in the salon.

    5. You get personalised recommendations

Your stylist will prescribe the exact routine your hair needs based on your colour, texture and hair goals — no guessing.
